Crack sealing
Crack Sealing can extend the life of asphalt pavement. When surface water penetrates to
the base layers of asphalt, roads begin to deteriorate, decreasing their structural
capacity. Sealing cracks early, with appropriate preparation methods, is the most cost
effective way to maintain highways and parking lots.
- Anderson Brothers uses the latest technology in routers and other equipment.
- Routers can easily follow meandering cracks.
- Heat lances use hot air to thoroughly cleanse, dry and prepare surface.
- Sealant can be applied immediately after heating, before moisture has time to resurface.
- All hot pour sealants used meet or exceed MN DOT specifications.
- Surveys show proper routing and sealant will keep cracks sealed for 3 to 5 years.

Sealcoating
Sealcoating seasoned asphalt surfaces:
- Can extend the useful life of asphalt pavement by as much as 60 percent.
- Helps protect asphalt against the damaging effects of gasoline and oil spillage plus
other road chemicals, including winter salt.
- Prevents water from seeping into the porous structure, stops damage caused by rain, snow
and freeze-thaw cycles.
- Creates a smooth, even surface, making sweeping, snow removal and maintenance much
easier.
- Draws in sunlight due to the enhanced black color, melting ice and snow faster, while
protecting the pavement from harmful ultra violet rays which break down the asphalt and
cause it to gray.
