Aitkin and Pequot Lakes embarked on large underground projects that when completed were paved. Upgrading the water and sewer systems when done correctly is a major benefit to a community despite the temporary disruption for the citizens.

Mission Township and Oak Lawn Township paved roads with existing gravel on them. Anderson Brothers did the final grading, watering and compaction of the gravel before applying a two inch bituminous layer.

In both cases, the board needed to make a decision whether or not to add Class 5. It is important that the base is sufficient after shaping the road to final grade.

Sometimes when the road is crowned to two percent, the center can be shy of Class 5. Other times the edges only need attention. Sometimes the binder is gone from the whole road and needs to be supplemented with gravel. Anderson Brothers can help evaluate these situations prior to bid letting or help you to recognize such conditions.

East Gull Lake and the City of Lakeshore had their city hall parking lots done this year. East Gull Lake reconstruction included grading, gravel and concrete work. They also did Street Print to produce a decorative entrance to the building. The City of Lakeshore did an lot overlay on their lot.

Sylvan Township

This past year has been another one of growth and development for our communities. Residents are insisting on good roads whether they require gravel, blade leveling, crack sealing, patching or paving.

All of our officials in this area have been doing a fantastic job in seeing that the public requirements are met and handled professionally.

Our Anderson Brothers staff thanks you for making us a part of your accomplishments

Scott Hendrickson
 Named Maintenance
Division Manager

1999 marked a changing of the guard in our maintenance division. Bill Wroolie has retired and left a big pair of shoes to fill. We had the good fortune to have on staff a very talented replacement.

Scott Hendrickson

Scott Hendrickson began working with us in 1996. Scott began in the maintenance division and has worked primarily in the division ever since. He started out as laborer/operator and progressed rapidly to a foreman role.

Early this year he was named the project manager for the division. Scott has been involved with our suppliers testing new products such as "Liquid Road" in the City of Apple Valley and in use of a new product called "Aspen" for seal coating.

He is also our on-site leader for as many as four crews in a day. His experience in doing the work provided him a knowledge of the products and methods of construction. His hard work and dedication have earned him the respect of his peers.

"Now I work more directly with the customer," said Scott. "I feel my knowledge of the products as well as hands on experience enable me to serve our clients better."

If you have any maintenance concerns or questions about patching, seal coating, crack sealing or sweeping, please call Scott at our office. 218-829-1768 or contact him by mobile phone 888-989-6802.
