In 2013 Jim Anderson had a decision to make about the future of his family owned company. Jim wanted to ensure the company legacy was carried on for many more generations to come. Jim ultimately decided to keep the company family/employee owned and 9 new employee owners were selected (pictured above). The new ownership team includes employees from all facets of the company whom all have many years of hard work and dedication with Anderson Brothers. Under this new ownership model, as current employee owners retire/leave the company, new ownership opportunities open up for other existing Anderson Brothers employees.
Jim’s father (Art Anderson) and uncle (John Anderson) started Anderson Brothers Construction in 1940 and were the ‘Anderson Brothers’ the company is named after. Jim attended Brainerd High School through graduation and then attended the University of Minnesota from 1961-1964 before coming back to Anderson Brothers to run the company after Art passed away. In the past, Jim has been the president of the Brainerd Chamber of Commerce, Minnesota Pavement Association, Chairman of National Infrastructure Division Associated Builders and Contractors, board member of St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Bremer Bank, Central Minnesota Boy Scouts, and St. Cloud State University Foundation.
Jim's been married to his wife Linnea for over 50 years and has two children; Christine and Eric. They also have 4 granddaughters which they get some time to enjoy.
Jim’s proudest moments are working over the years with all the great employees of Anderson Brothers and all the accomplishments achieved together. Jim also gives much credit to his father Art for helping to develop the company.
